About Us

The Ethiopian Women’s Empowerment Group (EWEG) was founded in November 2003 to address the physical, emotional, and social needs of Ethiopian refugee and migrant women living in the UK. It was one of the first women’s groups in the UK specifically focused on offering holistic emotional and physical support to Ethiopian women in these communities. Recognising the growing needs of other refugee and migrant women, EWEG expanded its services in 2007 to include all Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) women.
